There is no answer to your question. Some houses remain unsold for much longer periods than do others, and thus cost far more in repetitive advertising to procure buyers. Quality advertising, however, is expensive. Many agents maintain websites on which to display listings to potential buyers, and agencies themselves mostly have similar websites for all properties listed. As well, there is newspaper and real estate guide advertising, some TV advertising on ‘local homes for sale’ channels, plus the costs of MLS and www.realtor.com exposure. It all adds up.

Hey, i would like to start a little business on ebay (sell handmade jewelry) but i don’t have any experience, i don’t even usually buy on ebay. However, i think that what i wanna do could really work and be a good business. Anybody could give or knows where i could go for some information, advices and selling strategies on ebay ? What are the best ways to proceed?? Thanks for your help !!

The best thing you can do for now is check out the competition. The are loads of people selling hand made jewelery on ebay so you will be able to see what items are popular, what items are missing (so you can fill the gap). You can see how much stuff sells for so you can work out your costings for materials etc…
Also you should check out www.etsy.com
It’s a site for people who make handcrafted products – you can set up your own Etsy shop and sell for usually more money than ebay.
My advice would be to sell your products through ebay and etsy at the same time.

I purchased something recently on Ebay. The seller is reputable but has somewhat of a spotty record of shipping his items on time. Does Ebay set a deadline for when a seller needs to ship his item after it is purchased?

There is no set time that I am aware of but a good seller will note his shipping schedule in the listings. Some will ship within one to two days of payment. Others will note they only ship once a week and mention the day. Good sellers will also email you when they ship the item. If all else fails, just use the “Ask the seller a Question’ link in the upper right hand side of the listing page and ask the seller when the item was mailed or will be mailed.
